Charity of the Month: KIDS MEALS HOUSTON

Kids Meals delivers meals to 1,400 pre-school aged children, living in poverty that are in need of food. The meals are free of cost and delivered directly to the homes, Monday through Friday, year-round. Kids Meals operates out of two locations: Neighborhood Centers (Independence Heights and East Houston, Ripley House). The following is a list of additional services that complement our meals on wheels program. These other services serve to assist the families in breaking the cycle of poverty. In 2011, Kids' Meals delivered OVER 390,000 lunches with a staff of eight and with the help of over 10,000 volunteers like the Houston Rockets.

Throughout the month of May, Rockets employees will serve as "Meals on Wheels" volunteers by partnering with Kids Meals Houston to deliver meals to children in Houston's East End.
